After majoring in math to working for 30 years in Information Technology, the evolution to glass artist began as a practical, economic based idea. Tauber wanted a stained glass cabinet door, and had run out of money after a kitchen re-modeling project. From stained glass, she moved to fused glass, and the result was an impractical and emotional love of glass, and the forms it can take. She has now been making stained glass pieces for seven years and working in fused glass for three years. She has contracted to create custom pieces for homes throughout the area. She also designs and sells work inspired by her surroundings. Her pieces have been featured in several art shows during the past year. Tauber says, "In the four years I have been fusing, I have gone from broken glass to predictable surfaces, from small pieces to large ones, from little confidence to receiving First Prize for Fine Crafts at Delaware's largest Art Festival. It has been the start of a wonderful journey, which will continue for a long, long time." For more information about Tauber's work, visit http://www.inspirationsinglass.com |
